Rape.

Just the word is abhorrent. Not to talk of the act itself. So inhumane yet so freakishly recurrent; it's frightening. Statistics say that women are raped everyday

What worries me most is that it seems like the society is becoming desensitized to rape; maybe it's the frequency of occurrence, maybe it's the women that lie about it happening to them. Who knows.

Whatever the reason, it's inexcusable.  Rape never has a right. So what if she was wearing a short skirt or she drank too much - does that mean she loses the right to her own body?

SCORA = Standing Committee On Reproductive health and Aids. SCORA is a branch of the International Federation of Medical Students and there is one in Nigeria, SCORA-NG. We work against the rising number of rape cases and other issues detrimental to reproductive health.

We need YOUR help. By supporting us in any way, be it by notifying us about any issue related to reproductive health and aids in Nigeria, educational supplies, financial aid or otherwise - it is very welcome.
