A day with you - by Tosin Akinro

Whether it's a bed or a lawn,
I want to lie beside you with my earpiece in my ears,
Leaning on your chest with a backdrop of good music,
Sounds cheesy but it's what I want with you

Whether it's a room or a hall,
I want to place my hand in yours,
Feeling your pulse thumping only for me,
Sounds cheesy but it's what I want with you

Whether it's an inch or a thousand miles,
I want to miss you with all the breath left in me,
Wishing you'd come back and fill the hole you've punctured in my lungs
Sounds cheesy but it's what I want with you

Whether it's a baby or two,
I want to adore them cause they're from you,
Teaching them to love the Lord the way we both do,
Sounds cheesy but it's what I want with you.

  1. Uhmmm...nice poem, but may I chip in something and not sound mean??? Look at it as constructive criticism, the repeating last line sounds so childish...at least to me..... Apart from that..... The poem's pretty much awesome... Love you Tosin

  2. No one criticizes a composer for repeating the same notes or lyrics in a song, there's liberty in arts, that's why it's called arts, nice poem .

    1. I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but I'm just trying to say that the last line of that poem sounds like what a primary school child would write..... If you had written this in a journal or somewhere that's not meant for public viewing,i wouldn't mind if i saw it... But its on someone 's blog.... Its a nice poem.. But I'm trying to offer my honest opinion.i think its childish cause of the last line... I'm sure That even tho its my opinion.., I'm probably not the only one sharing that train of thought.. Try to be more creative and imaginative is all i am trying to say .and.....what's life without criticism??
